Everything that I write below is observational or second-hand information that has been told me in recent days. I have no agenda regarding the political situation in this area of Peru. I just want to pass through. Oz told me he is leaving the expedition this morning. “I am sorry,” he said looking at the [...]

Steve Backshall, a good friend of mine and presenter of BBC’s upcoming “Lost Land of the Jaguar”, has just had a nasty climbing accident in the Wye Valley and broke his back in two places. I told him he should stay away from those 2 places… Amazingly Steve looks like he won’t be paralysed and [...]

On Thursday morning I was in a bit of a mardy – that’s Leicester for bad mood. I was concerned that the re-supply parcel that was coming to Lima from London was too heavy and therefore too expensive. I insisted that Luke wrote an email to Diane, his fiancé’s mother asking her to only send [...]

I am part of the Francis Holland School Geography Club. We have been studying what you are doing. My question is… What is the hardest thing about doing this wonderful thing? Ed: If I´m honest at this stage the hardest thing has been getting on well with Luke and finding our feet with each other. [...]
